What It Really Means When There's A 50 Percent Chance Of...

As a student and observer of meteorology, it constantly bums me out that people do not understand what it means when someone says there’s an “X% chance of rain” tomorrow. A 50 percent chance of rain does not mean there’s a 1-in-2 chance that you’re going to get wet.

Paint a Piece of Poster Board Instead of Your Wall to...

Painting a little square of color on your wall is a good way to test out potential wall colorings, but you only get to see how it looks on that particular patch of wall in that particular lighting situation. To see how it would look in any part of the room, paint a piece of poster board and move it around.
